Motifs/Patterns: the pink body is scattered with small floral butis ó stylized palmettes/mini-lotus motifs ó set at regular, airy intervals. The pallu is the showpiece ó richly brocaded in antique-gold zari with layered bands of ornament: wide floral panels, rows of paisley/leaf medallions and dense geometric brocade stripes. The antique finish of the zari on the pallu matches the border, giving a cohesive, heritage look rather than a high-shine costume effect.
Border Details: The saree has a wide turquoise-blue border that is densely woven with antique-gold zari. The border pattern is classical Banarasi ó a continuous floral-vine band with large rosette/lotus medallions placed at intervals and smaller scrolling foliage between them.
Special Techniques: Tussar silk (wild silk) yarn is selected for its natural slub, warm golden undertone and textured hand. Yarn is degummed (to remove sericin), bleached if needed, and dyed (body pink / border turquoise) with stable natural dyes. The body is woven in Tussar ground weave first; the butis are formed by the supplementary-weft (butidar) technique. The border and pallu are created by brocade (zari) technique: antique-gold zari is used as a supplementary weft that is inserted alongside the silk weft to form the motifs. For the dense pallu this requires multiple passes of zari, careful tensioning, and finely coordinated handwork so motifs sit flush and have strength. Creating a Tussar Banarasi with a heavy antique-zari pallu and hand-butis is labour-intensive and requires several specialised skills (dyer, warp master, master weaver, brocade operator). Production can take from several days to weeks depending on motif complexity and pallu density.

Care Instructions: Only dry cleaning. Never steam iron. If ironing at home, place a cotton/mulmul cloth on top of the saree and use your iron at the lowest heat setting.
