Working sequins into muslin is especially difficult because the fabric is so light that any heavy or rushed hand would tear the base. This is why every sequin sitting evenly along the saree is a quiet mark of the weaver's craft.
The saree is yarn-dyed, which means the muslin threads are dyed in the onion pink shade before weaving begins. This locks the color deep into the fibers, giving it that soft, lasting finish that does not fade or sit on the surface. The zari used throughout the saree, in both golden and silver tones, is tested zari, meaning the metal content has been verified for quality.
