Motifs/Patterns: This handloom pure muslin tissue saree glows in a vibrant yellow mustard — a warm, saturated hue that catches light through the sheer muslin tissue ground, giving the fabric an almost sunlit translucence.
The body is scattered with delicate jamdani butis woven in a combination of rose gold and silver zari, placed evenly across the entire surface in a classic all-over arrangement. These small, circular motifs float against the mustard ground like tiny medallions, their dual metallic tones adding a quiet richness to the otherwise airy fabric.
The pallu is kept minimal and elegant, finished with fine pin stripes woven in tissue that shimmer subtly without competing with the body's jamdani work.
Border Details: The borders carry a distinctive dual-tone treatment. The top selvedge has a black and yellow blended edging that sits cleanly against the mustard body. The bottom border is more pronounced — a black and yellow dual-tone band with a crisp white patti running through its centre, creating a bold graphic stripe that grounds the saree with structure and contrast.
Special Techniques: Muslin tissue represents one of the most delicate forms of handloom weaving. The base is created by interlacing ultra-fine muslin yarn with zari threads on the loom, producing the tissue's signature translucent shimmer — a fabric so light it barely registers weight on the skin. This is a yarn-dyed saree, meaning the mustard colour is dyed into the individual threads before weaving, embedding the hue deep into the fibre's structure. The jamdani butis are then hand-woven into this gossamer ground using the supplementary weft technique: the weaver introduces rose gold and silver zari threads with small throw shuttles, placing each motif individually as the fabric takes shape row by row. Every buti is built directly into the weave, not applied afterwards, making each one an integral part of the textile itself. The result is a saree that carries centuries of Bengali muslin mastery within a fabric that feels almost weightless.
