Motifs/Patterns: This is a 100% handloom pure matka silk Jamdani with Resham weave, in a vibrant royal blue that refuses to be ignored. Against that deep, saturated blue sits Jamdani work in a mixed bronze and silver zari — warm and cool metallics together, which is what gives the saree its unusual glow. In daylight the silver reads bright and crisp; under evening light the bronze takes over and turns everything richer.
The Resham woven into the matka is what changes the feel entirely. Matka on its own is textured and raw; the Resham brings in a softness and a fluid, liquid drape, so the saree stays lightweight and moves beautifully while keeping matka's characteristic slubbed depth.

The body is solid royal blue, and here the matka-and-Resham combination truly shows itself — smooth and fluid to the touch, yet still carrying the fine slubbed texture that only matka gives. Across this ground sit beautiful Mughal motifs, woven in bronze and silver zari through the Jamdani needle technique, scattered at intervals and drawing the eye toward the border. The motifs are small and restrained, so they never crowd the colour. Instead they catch light as you move, letting that royal blue stay the hero while the zari does the sparkling.
The pallu opens into fine pinstripe lining — delicate rows of zari running across the blue, keeping the finish simple, sober and refined rather than heavy. Sitting above those stripes are the Mughal motifs again, woven in the Jamdani technique, giving the pallu its focal detail. It's an elegantly judged ending: enough shimmer to feel special, restrained enough that the saree never tips into excess. The saree comes with a running blouse piece to complete the set.
Border Details: The border is woven in mixed silver and bronze zari, and it is pure Jamdani storytelling. Look closely and you'll see a garden: fine vertical strokes rising like blades of grass, and above them, blossoms scattered across the band — flowers growing out of a metallic meadow. It's an unusually poetic thing to find on a border, and the execution is flawless. Every stroke of grass is counted, every bloom placed by hand. You can practically read the designer's imagination in it. The border runs along both the top and bottom of the saree, framing the blue on either edge.

It is also yarn-dyed: every thread is dyed before weaving begins, which is why the royal blue sits so deep and even, reads identical on both sides, and holds its intensity for years instead of fading the way surface-dyed cloth does. The zari used is tested zari.
Weaving matka together with Resham is the first difficulty. Matka yarn is thick, irregular and slubbed; Resham is fine, smooth and slippery. The two behave completely differently under tension, and a weaver must constantly adjust to keep the fabric even — too tight and the Resham cuts, too loose and the matka puckers. That balance is what gives this saree its soft, fluid hand, and it's the reason it takes far longer to weave than plain matka.
Then comes the Jamdani. Every motif — the grass and flowers along the border, each Mughal butti in the body, the details on the pallu — is inserted by hand with a fine needle-like stick while the weaving is still in progress. There is no printed pattern, no machine assistance; the design lives in the weaver's memory and appears thread by thread, pick by pick.
Doing that with metallic zari on a textured matka ground raises the difficulty further, because the zari must be laid perfectly flat to catch light evenly, and the motifs must stay aligned across the full length of the saree. It's slow, exacting work by highly skilled hands — weeks on the loom for a single piece.
